Enroll Android
Android goes through Google, not through Apple’s push certificate. The phone receives policies and apps from Android Device Policy — the Google app installed at enrollment. You do not install a separate management app.
When to use this pageThe first time you prepare Android, or when Enrollment says you must link an enterprise first.

How this differs from iPhone
| iPhone, iPad | Android | |
|---|---|---|
| Enrollment | A Safari link or ADE. | A QR code or a Google link, after the enterprise is Linked. |
| Lasting configuration | Several profiles stack. | One policy. Assigning a new one replaces the old one on the same target. |
| Apps | Apps & Books licenses. | Managed Play. There are no VPP-style license seats. |
| Commands | A push certificate. | Google receives the command. Lock, wipe, and Lost Mode are on the commands page. |
The Settings → Android column
| Item | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Service settings | Upload the Google key and connect Managed Google Play. |
| Enrollment | Create a QR code. This page stays locked until the enterprise is Linked. |
| Policies | Restrictions, passcode, Play Store, and apps. |
| Compliance | OS version and days-inactive rules. Lock or wipe the first time a device fails. |
The button Enroll device → Android opens Enrollment.
You cannot change the management mode on a phone that is already enrolled. Wipe it or remove management, then enroll with a token for the other mode.
